Custom calendar sizes for all seasons

When planning your calendar, many clients choose to print 12, 14, 16 or 18 months in a variety of standard sizes. Typical wall calendar page sizes include:

” 12″ x 12″
” 8.5″ x 11″
” 5.5″ x 8.5″
” 6″ x 6″

(Note: These are the single page sizes. When they are saddlestiched and hung open on a wall, the length will double. For example, the 12″ x 12″ calendar becomes 12″ wide by 24″ tall when hung up.)

Wall calendars can be bound with staples and a hole drilled for hanging, or with wire at the top (wire-o) binding for an upscale finish.

Custom desk calendars

If your clients have a desk, they very likely need a calendar nearby, and it may as well be yours!

Desk calendars are made with thicker backing cover paper and fold to make them stand up, making them perfect for display on any flat surface. The wire-o binding lets the months be flipped over one by one. You can choose to print on both sides, or just the front of each sheet.

A desk calendar is usually small, with finished sizes such as:

” 5.5″ x 8.5″
” 8.5″ x 5.5″

Custom poster calendars

Poster calendars have all their months and dates on one large poster, it’s a great on-in-one-view reference of the year. Ask about Capital’s new digital press that can print up to 13″ x 40″ long, perfect for lower quantities of poster calendars.

Daily tear-off calendar

Tear-off calendars are small calendars with pages bound at the top like a notepad, where you can tear of each sheet as the year progresses. Often each sheet is a day, but they can also be a week – which can help reduce the total number of pages. These kinds of calendars invite ongoing interaction, keeping your brand top-of-mind.

Paper choices

Since your calendar is being seen every day, you’ll want it to look really good. We recommend using a 100 lb. coated stock for covers, and 70 lb. – 100 lb. for interior pages. Choose a matte finish on the interior pages if you intend people to write on them.

Calendar binding

Your calendar can be bound with a saddle-stitch, plastic spiral, or wire-o. The least expensive is saddlestitch. This means folding your calendar and stapling it in the middle. Spiral bound is the next step up, featuring a plastic coil that is wound through small circular holes along the top edge. At the top is wire-o. It is a metal wire clamped into square punched holes at the top edge. Both spiral and wire-o come in a variety of colours.

How long do calendars take to produce?

Calendars usually take a couple weeks to produce. Our staff and equipment enable us to turn jobs around quick if you need them sooner. We recommend getting your calendar orders in early like September in order to beat the calendar printing season rush in the spring.

How much do calendars cost to print?

Calendar printing prices are determined by many factors such as size, quantity, number of pages, paper choice and so on. We recommend you speak to one of our representatives so that they can ask the right questions then we will get a quick price estimate done up.
